12:24
Composed by Quinntashia Roy
As, I look at the time
I ain’t trying to rhyme
Take a second to reflect on those we lost at Columbine
Such a tragedy it was
Those kids were just like us
HELL, it could have been us
Then the outbreak of sorrow, pain, anger and misery
Sudden awareness
How the hell could we be so damn careless?
Screams of justice and remembrance saying NEVER AGAIN
Could one of us commit such a sin
As time passed so many nights we go to sleep
With things left undone and pushed to the next day
Come- on! Haven’t we learned tomorrows not promised today?
Then there’s 9/11 well that’s that, there’s nothing left to say
We are the youth of the nation
Everything’s great Cuz the adults think they understand what’s written in the sand
Then on April 16th, 2007 Virginia Tech made Columbine look like a spec
Yea, so much for never again, huh, but this one was worse in the end
33 students never go home again
Never again to say a thing
Nor to enjoy another spring
We’re all the same
The pain we go through
The sorrow we feel
What makes us different are
The decisions we make
So they group us together
Because we wear black we’re dangerous
And you try saving me from myself
Cuz my life to you means everything
But in my past are things you still hold against me
No you cannot save me
But it’s not the time to breakdown
But to face yourself and let go
Cuz time moves on
